К последствиям перевода Hierauf в одном из текстов К. Ф. Э. Баха

Аннотация
Текст Некролога памяти И. С. Баха неоднократно приводил к неверному толкованию отраженных в нем событий. Причины могли быть разными: особенности письменной речи К. Ф. Э. Баха, редакторская правка Л. Мицлера. В статье обсуждается случай, сопряженный с использованным в Некрологе словом Hierauf. Оно относится к двум импровизациям (Потсдам, май 1747 г.), выполненным Бахом одна за другой. Hierauf позволяет определить, как именно произошли импровизации — немедленно или спустя относительно продолжительное время — лишь со знанием контекста. Вильгельм Фридеман, отсутствовавший на мероприятии, этого не знал, из-за чего его толкование произошедшего у короля, оказалось ошибочным. Далее оно было пересказано старшим сыном Баха Н. Форкелю, через книгу которого распространилось во многих других источниках. Одним из негативных результатов случившегося оказалось возникновение мифа о невыполненном Бахом повелении короля, а также о замене композитором королевской темы на другую, о поучении им короля относительно того, какие темы годятся для импровизации фуги. Подтверждением, что Филипп Эмануэль иначе и верно толковал Hierauf, в данной ситуации, служит не только факт его присутствия во время импровизации, но и особенности использования им Hierauf в другом месте этого же текста, но с более понятным контекстом.

Concerning the Consequences of the Translation Hierauf
in One of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach’s Texts

Abstract
The text of the Obituary in memory of Johann Sebastian Bach, either because of the peculiarities of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach’s writing style or because of L. Mizler’s editorial work, has repeatedly led to an incorrect interpretation of the events reflected in it. This article examines a case related to the use of the word Hierauf in the Obituary. It refers to two improvisations (Potsdam, May 1747) performed by Bach one after another. Hierauf allows to determine how exactly the improvisations occurred — immediately or after a relatively long time — only with knowledge of the context. Wilhelm Friedemann, who was absent from the event, did not know this, because of which his interpretation of what happened at the king’s palace turned out to be erroneous. Further, it was retold by Bach’s eldest son to N. Forkel, through whose book it spread to many other sources. One of the negative results of what happened was the emergence of a myth about Bach’s unfulfilled command of the king, his substitution of the royal theme with another, and his lecturing the king on what themes are suitable for improvising a fugue. Confirmation that Philipp Emanuel interpreted Hierauf differently and correctly, is provided not only by his presence during the improvisations, but also by his use of Hierauf in another part of the same text where the context is clearer.
