Аннотация. Известным отечественным источниковедом и текстологом Анастасией Сергеевной Ляпуновой — заведующей Отделом рукописей Ленинградской консерватории — в 1940 г. были подготовлены к публикации письма А. Н. Серова, адресованные председателю Русского музыкального общества А. А. Кирееву. В настоящей статье освещаются этапы работы исследователя с документами, дается текстологическое описание источников, кратко характеризуется содержание писем А. Н. Серова и предпосланного им развернутого научного комментария А. С. Ляпуновой.

Anastasia Lyapunova as a Publisher and a Commentator of Alexander Serov’s Letters

Abstract
The phenomenon of Serov’s letters demonstrates his individuality and creative thinking, thereby exposing a sensitive, vulnerable nature. A dedication to the educational cause is particularly evident in moments of acute controversy, in the selfless struggle for jus tice. The texts of the letters to Alexander A. Kireev provide insight into the state of the concert repertoire during that period, as well as the context surrounding the confrontation between two organizations — the Russian Musical Society and the Free Music School. The correspon dence commenced with the search for the truth about himself on the part of Society and acknowledgment of Serov’s contributions to Russian music. The decade-long dispute culmi nated in the critic’s detachment from the standards of public education and the popu larity of the domestic modern repertoire. As a result of the critic’s counsel, concert programmes featured previously unperformed works on the Russian stage, which subsequently delighted the audience and stimulated their interest in relevant compositions.
