Dear Colleagues,
We are delighted to announce the XI International Conference Prospects of Professional Music Education Development, taking place this November 12 to 14 at the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory as a part of the IX St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.
Objectives of the conference this year are the following:
• to present the general picture of higher music education today: identify concurrence or diversification of educational goals and tasks, curricula and programs, qualifications, levels and degrees;
• to show how Russian education is influencing the world music culture;
• to analyze the effectiveness of students’ training;
• to determine the ways and methods of developing cultural enlightenment in Russia involving professional communities and organizations in the field of culture;
• to contribute to updating the concept of music education in Russia.
We are expecting to welcome at the conference:
Representatives of
- the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation;
- the Association of European Conservatories (AEC);
Leaders of higher and secondary music educational institutions in Russia and abroad;
Specialists in the field of music education and arts.
The following topics will be discussed during the conference:
- Globalization of professional music education;
- Preservation of intangible cultural heritage;
- Development of international contacts between higher music institutions;
- Forms of music educational programs realization in present conditions;
- Distance learning: advantages and disadvantages;
- The science of music problems in higher education: contemporary challenges;
- Additional professional education in Russian and foreign higher music institutions: prospects of development.
In the case that an epidemiological situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic persists the conference will be held online.
