Impressions about the XIX International Conservatory week festival

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I was treated so generously: the hotel was very fine, volunteers nice and helpful, the venues and concerts of excellent quality.
All the best to you and your staff, excellent work!

We do want you to know our musicians enjoyed very much your festival and stay in St. Petersburg. They all appreciate the high caliber of the festival, and that it was so well organized.

It was my pleasure to work with your extraordinary musicians at the Conservatory! They played my music so beautifully! I have been telling everyone at Juilliard how fantastic the musicians are at your great conservatory! Please let all the great players – both the students and their extraordinary teachers know how much I loved hearing them play my music. It means so much to a composer to hear their music played with such a beautiful sound, and with such great musical expression! It was an honor for me to be at your Conservatory, and it is an experience I will always treasure! I hope to keep in close touch and to see you again someday!
All best wishes from New York City to my new friends at the St. Petersburg Conservatory!

I wanted to write personally with my greatest thanks for the invitation to perform at your festival.
It was a huge honour to perform the Russian premiere of Knussen in the wonderful Mariinsky concert  hall, and we were delighted by the reaction of the audience. Also a life-changing experience to perform Elgar in the Grand Philharmonic Hall to open the festival. I was very pleased with the playing of my orchestra at both concerts - these experiences will stay with me for the rest of my life.
Liebe Grüße aus Wien.
